Massage Therapy at Body D-Tox
In a world that constantly demands more from you, stress, fatigue, and physical tension often settle quietly into the body. At Body D-Tox, massage therapy is not just about relaxation. Every treatment is a healing process — helping your body restore its natural rhythm and return to balance in both body and mind.
Our experienced therapists combine expertise with instinctive knowledge — drawing on ancient massage methods to relieve accumulated muscle tension, enhance blood flow, and activate your body’s natural self-healing capacity. No two bodies are alike, and no two sessions are alike. Every treatment is tailored precisely to what your body needs on that particular day.
Our Treatments
Each modality serves a distinct purpose — your therapist will recommend the right approach, or combination, based on your needs on the day.
🌿
A full-body, flowing massage designed to calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and promote deep physical and mental relaxation. Light to medium pressure, rhythmic strokes, and intuitive touch to unblock tension and restore a sense of ease and flow throughout the body.
💪
A therapeutic, targeted massage style used to treat and remedy soft tissue dysfunction in muscles, fascia, ligaments and tendons. Combines deep tissue work, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and lymphatic drainage — adapted to your comfort level and condition. Effective doesn't have to mean painful.
🦴
A clinical assessment-based therapy focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of muscular pain and dysfunction. Myotherapy addresses the underlying causes of pain — not just the symptoms — using dry needling, deep tissue techniques, trigger point therapy, stretching, and corrective exercise prescription.
Our Techniques
Your treatment may include a combination of the following techniques — selected by your therapist based on your consultation and specific needs that day.
◆
Firm, focused pressure targeting the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to release chronic tension and restriction.
◆
Sustained pressure applied to restricted areas of the fascial system to eliminate pain and restore motion.
◆
Targeted pressure on hyperirritable muscle knots that refer pain to other areas of the body — releasing tension at the source.
◆
Fine needles inserted into trigger points to deactivate muscle knots and restore normal muscle function — used in Myotherapy.
◆
Gentle, rhythmic strokes to stimulate the lymphatic system and support the body's natural detoxification process.
◆
Post-treatment rehabilitation guidance to maintain treatment gains and correct underlying postural or movement patterns.

Setting the record straight
Remedial massage may feel intense at times because your therapist is working on tight or tender areas — but it should never be unbearable. You are always in control of the pressure.
The “no pain, no gain” mindset does not apply here. Too much pressure causes muscles to tense up, making it harder to release tightness and potentially leaving you sore afterwards. Muscles only release when they are relaxed.
Deep and hard are two very different things. Our therapists work at the depth needed — firm, effective, and always within your comfort zone. Effective treatment doesn’t have to mean painful treatment.
Your Session
Sessions run 60–90 minutes, allowing time for a thorough consultation, full treatment, and aftercare guidance. Every appointment is formulated so you walk out relaxed, rested, and refreshed.

Your therapist takes a brief medical history, assesses your presenting concerns, goals, posture, and range of movement — ensuring the treatment is targeted and appropriate.
02
Your session is tailored specifically to your needs — whether for pain management, muscle tension, injury recovery, or relaxation. Technique, pressure, and focus areas are adjusted throughout.
03
Treatment is delivered in a private room, in a calm and professional setting designed to support your comfort, safety, and treatment outcomes throughout.
04
Your therapist provides personalised aftercare recommendations — including hydration, stretching, rest, and a suggested treatment frequency to maintain and build on results.

Have Questions?
The frequency depends on your individual goals, lifestyle, and any existing conditions. For injury recovery or chronic tension, weekly or fortnightly sessions are often recommended initially. For maintenance and general wellbeing, many clients benefit from a treatment every 3–4 weeks. Your therapist will recommend an appropriate plan after your initial consultation.
Remedial massage should not be excessively painful. Techniques targeting tight muscles or trigger points may cause mild discomfort, but the treatment should always remain within your comfort level. Communication with your therapist is actively encouraged throughout. We firmly believe that effective massage does not require pain — muscles only release when they are relaxed, not when they are bracing.
Absolutely — and it's highly recommended. Massage therapy supports muscle recovery, improves circulation, reduces tension, enhances mobility, and helps prevent injuries. Many athletes and active individuals include regular massage as a core part of their recovery and performance routine.
After your treatment, drink plenty of water, give your body time to rest, and avoid intense physical activity for several hours where possible. Your therapist may also provide stretching or recovery exercises to help maintain the benefits of the treatment between sessions.
Remedial massage can assist in the management of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:
Treatment can also complement care from physiotherapists, osteopaths, and chiropractors.
Relaxation massage uses flowing, rhythmic strokes at light-to-medium pressure to calm the nervous system and promote overall wellbeing — it's ideal for stress relief, mental restoration, and general relaxation. Remedial massage is a clinical, assessment-based approach targeting specific soft tissue dysfunction, pain, and injury — using deeper, more targeted techniques to treat the root cause of your issue. Your therapist can help you choose the right approach, or combine both in a single session.
Myotherapy is a clinical discipline focused on the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of muscular pain and dysfunction. Unlike standard massage, a Myotherapy session begins with a structured assessment — including medical history, postural analysis, range of movement testing, and muscle strength testing — before treatment begins. Myotherapy also incorporates dry needling and prescribed corrective exercise, making it a more comprehensive approach for complex or chronic conditions.
